The man with the beard smacks cancer in the face.........

We all have had a loved one effected by cancer. Even though many leaps and bounds have been made in cancer research, millions of people fight it every year. Too many of them will not survive. Relay For Life is a fun-filled overnight event designed to celebrate survivorship and raise money for research and programs of your American Cancer Society. During the event, teams of people gather at schools, fairgrounds, or parks and take turns walking or running laps. Each team tries to keep at least one team member on the track at all times. Basically a bunch of mad crazy people get together for an all nighter to raise cancer awareness and raise money for research. Here are the numbers.

Of all the money that Relay For Life raises:
41% - Research and other national programs and activities
18% - Prevention and detection through education and advocacy
18% - Patient services
19% - Fundraising
4% - Management
77% - Goes directly to cancer fighting programs!

Let's break it down. My Relay team is my church (Calvary Baptist Church). We have a goal of $1700. I have set a personal goal of $300. But, I cannot be all cool and reach my goal without you, my faithful readers. I want you to click on the donate button below and donate some money......or a bunch of money if you want. "But Trevor, I have kids to feed......I am a poor bald man.......Sorry, but I spent all my money on my grandchildren, guns, cigars, etc, etc." You have 5 bucks. You have 10 bucks. You have 1000 bucks.......well, most of you probably do not have that much unless you and your family fasted for three months. That's called child abuse or murder when your children die of starvation. Back on track.....the point is you love me and you want to help the fight against cancer. Our Relay event is on April 21st. You all could give $5 every week until then (or $10......or more).

What am I doing? Besides hitting all of my friends and family for dough, I am setting up a Star Wars auction. I am selecting some items from my personal collection. I will post them on my website. Bids will be given in a silent fashion through e-mail. I donate the items and all the money goes to Relay for Life. So, you can start your Star Wars collection and fight cancer. How swell is that?

DONATE NOW!

Update...................

My apologies for the lack of post this week. I have had a real hard time adjusting back to my regular schedule (of no sleep). I have a full schedule of remodeling stuff to do. Plus, I am still working night security. With Amanda switching hospitals, I have not quit night security yet for benefit reasons. Since I work with power tools, I better not have a time period without medical coverage. Hopefully, Amanda will find out her starting time today, so we can put our two week notices in together. Tired and sitting at a computer do not mix well. When I have sat at my computer for any time period at work, I doze off.

I promise to get you all the full picture coverage of the wedding soon. We are still waiting on some film of the snapshots.

The house is still not in order. Yes, we live fairly clean lives. When you get married, the amount of stuff you have doubles. We are having a garage sale at the church this weekend to raise money for camp. We have alot of crap to sell.

I am participating in Relay for Life with our church. I will have a post about that coming up. So, get ready to give me your money. My personal goal is to raise $300.

Lunch is ready. Quality time with my wife!

Victory!!!..................

Greetings blog world. I know its been a week. You should know why. I am working on full wedding coverage. It will have a section on the Dot Com. We get the wedding pics back tonight. We are still waiting on the snapshots.

To other matters. VICTORY!!! I have acquired two Scorch Star Wars figures. This Republic Commando has been one of the hardest Saga Collection figures to find. I have been stopping at Wal-Mart's everywhere just hoping he would be on the peg. Thanks to my friends at Entertainment Earth I now have two. They were only about .75 cents more than if I did find him at Wal-Mart. It would be about the same price at Target or K-Mart. Victory!!! It looks like I have gone to a new way to buy my figures. Guaranteed to get them and in great condition. No prefive year old handling them and throwing them down on the floor in Wal-Mart. I do not have to pay the way high price on Ebay that Scorch is going for right now. If you see Scorch the Republic Commando at your local retail store, buy him! I will gladly repay you for it. Republic Commandos travel in squads of 4. I would like to get three more so I can repaint the figures to his squadmates.

Season 2 of Battlestar ended last night..........

Mike you cannot say anything!!! Lost does not even stand next to Battlestar Galactica!!! I am going to borrow some words from another show, "They have gone were no 'show' has gone before." This show is so good. I would be willing to lend out my DVD's, to people I know of course. Send out the search party Lost is..........lost.

Respalms 3...........

You are my protection
I am held behind Your shield
To Jesus I lift my head
I cry out with my voice

Lord, You sustain me
I am not afraid by Your side
O Lord You have saved me
My sin was struck down at the cross

Salvation belongs to the Lord
Salvation belongs to You.

Some meaningless lunch time info.......

I was looking at my site traffic statistics and found out a couple interesting things.

On an MSN search, if you search for "hale berry oscars 2006" my blog comes up 5th on the search. This is due to my Oscars suck post in which I did refer to Hale Berry.

On Google, type in "The Dark Tower 'total pages' " and I come up 18th. I have mention The Dark Tower series in several blog entries.

I had people come check out my blog using these searches. It is possible that they did not stay and read, but it cool to know I am getting some search power.

???????????

What is WORSHIP?

Spalms 2..........

I try to put away my selfishness
It eats a hole in my soul
Always taking, never giving
I clinch my wants in my fist

If I get what I want
Shouldn't I feel what I want?
I dominate conversation and prove I'm right
But, all I feel is wrong

I hold my new item with greed
It brings me short satisfaction
It fails to give me permanent comfort
The want comes back like an addiction

God, what a paradox You have set
I must give to receive
I must let go to hold on
I must let You provide, not myself

Take my selfishness God
It only brings destruction
Destroy in me what destroys
Make me last, even if I will never be first

Did I mention........

.......I am giving up going out to eat for Lent? Exceptions will be made for wedding stuff and the honeymoon.

Toby Mac................

I went to the Winter Jam concert in Norman this past Friday with our church youth. 10 buck to see 5 bands. The two big ones were Newsboys and Toby Mac. I enjoyed the Newsboys. They did their usual rotating drum set thing. They are doing more praise music these days. That means their shows are more serious. They used to be more goofy. But......

Toby Mac! You got to see this guy in concert. I have not seen him in concert since the dc Talk days. If you ever went to a dc Talk concert, you had a good time. Quick note: did you know that dc Talk's Jesus Freak album is over 10 years old? Wow. Toby is totally off the hook. Not only does he continue to put out quality music, but his shows are phenomenal. Toby has surrounded himself with amazing musicians to perform with him on stage. All 11,000 people were into his show. This whole thing makes me think an interesting thought. I am not trying to take away from the fine talent Michael Tait and Kevin Max offer. It is obvious that Toby Mac was the major force behind dc Talk. dc Talk could not make anything bad. It seems that Toby is the same way. I also must commend Toby on his integrity. He is huge. He has been huge for a lot of years now. Their has never been a hint of compromise in the content of his music. I will borrow some words from John Reuben, Toby has always kept it innovative. Toby totally ruled Friday night.

A word to internet predators..........

I have heard several new reports lately about predators seeking prey on different online journals. Warnings are given not to put too much personal info on your website. Which I think is a good thing. From my blog you can tell I live in Shawnee, America. If you actually read my blog you could gather other information like what church I go to, my Lady's name, etc, etc. Of course I do not see myself as a target. It is not like I post naked pictures of myself or lead my readers on that my life is totally different than it is. Since most of my readers know me, I could not get away with being someone fake. What you see is what you get. So if their are any predators out there thinking that I am some easy prey. Or if you are looking at My Lady like some kind of prey. You need to know something that will save your life. I am a gun-owning-Jesus-loving-conservative-Republican. If you come to my door wanting something that you can not have, I will not hesitate to show you the end of the barrel of my .45 and send you to see Jesus. Unfortunately, if you are someone up to no good, you probably do not know Jesus. In that case you will be wishing to see the end of my barrel again because that is heaven compared to where He will send you. Peace!

Happy Birthday Ray..............

I told him I would find a picture. Meet Ray Fink. He is the Superstar and my Hero. Today is a special day in his life. His 4..3.........25th birthday! For those who do not know, Ray is a fine Calvary Baptist Church deacon. In case you did not know, I go to church there too. Ray is the equivalent of a Sportscenter anchor for Oklahoma Baptist University. If it is OBU sports, Ray knows. He has attempted to erase photos of himself from the world. He took the one on his Xanga and OBU website down. I prevailed Ray!!! Your church loves you too much not have your picture on its website. Ha ha ha. So people of the world, meet Ray and go to his Xanga and wish him a happy birthday.

My 7000th visitor...............

Based on information available to me, Justin was the 7000th visitor to my blog. I was thinking of giving a prize to the 10,000 visitor. Of course it is possible that I might not be able to figure that person out. See, I know 7000 was Justin because the hit came from Geiger Ready Mix. I know two people who work there. Justin and my brother Tyson. Tyson drives a truck. Justin is an office boy. This picture of Justin is a years old. But, his looks are not all that different.

Today, some eye candy for you.........

I know some of you out their have no idea about my Star Wars collection. My best guess is I have been collecting around 8 or 9 years. I did not have a day that I proclaimed that "Star Wars collecting has begun." Amanda let me have control of one of her closets. In 18 days I will be living there too. I have never been able to display my collection this well before. It has usually been in boxes in closets. Enjoy!
