The Oscars suck................

The Oscars suck. They always nominate movies that I have not seen, mostly because I am not interested in them. If an actress wants an Oscar nod, they just need to show themselves off in a raunchy sex scene. Yes, know that is not the case with many of the winners. I am sick and tired of having all of this subject matter thrown in my face that I do not care about. No, I do not want to see Hale Berry get it on with Billy Bob and I do not want to see two cowboys getting it on. I do not care how broken your mountain is. The most watched and loved movies of the year hardly get mentioned at the Oscars. I do have a response to this.

The Dot Com endorses the Saturn Awards as the official movie/TV awards. I am kicking the Oscars out. I have this years Saturn nominations. My pics are in red.

I did leave a couple catagories out.

Of course I did not pick something in every catagory. Either I was notfamiliarr enough with the nods or I just did not pick one. I did not make a pick in "Best Network TV Series." I would of picked "Lost" but the show has lost momentum for me. If My Lady did not want to watch the show, then it might of lost me as a viewer. They are totally dragging out the plot in season 2. The show has potential. It has some really interesting elements. The problem is, they will not get to those elements. I will continue to watch and hope they get their act together. I did give Matthew Fox and Evangeline Lily my selection. In spite of the plot hold ups, these actors have done a great job.

This was a great year for SciFi/Fantasy. If you missed "Serenity", go rent or buy it now. The new "War of the Worlds" was awesome. We got to see the mask come down on Darth Vader. Christopher Nolan brought "Batman" back from the outrageous Clooney bin that it turned into. Let us not forget C.S. Lewis' masterpiece "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe." I guarantee that the movies mentioned here will be watched and cherished in the years to come. In the years to come you will not even remember what the Oscars nominated.
