The DaVinci Pot..................
I do own and have started reading the all so controversial book The DaVinci Code by Dan Brown. Mr. Brown is not getting any money from me at the box office. If I watch the movie, it will be when it comes on MVP at Hollywood Video. Mr. Brown is not going to get much of my time either. The Code is my pot book. What am I talking about you say? I will be reading it when I am taking a dump, crap, dropping bombs on Berlin low altitude style, letting the kids off at the pool, taking a .......I better stop their. You get the drift. The Code is 489 pages divided into 105 chapters. That averages out to 4.657 pages per session in the bathroom at home. If I meet Dan Brown one day I will tell him with a big smile that I read The Code over 105 sessions on the toilet.

Keeping one eye on July 6th..........
One eye? Yes, because it is only the Emmy Awards. The Emmy's do better than the Oscars, but I do not completely trust them. July 6th is when they will announce the nominees for this year's Emmy Awards. I will actually be at camp that week, but as soon as I get back I will check on the nominations. Click here to see the nominations that the network is pushing for Battlestar Galactica. Notice, that Battlestar Galactica is seen as a drama series. Hmmmm. Can Science Fiction be drama? Battlestar has proved that answer to be a big resounding YES!!!
I thought this picture was funny. It is a Cylon Centurion from the 70's version of Galactica.
To give you some context, this is what they look like now (sorry, it is not the best picture).

We are all geeks in some way....... Updated Again
My most prize Star Wars collectible has changed. Up until this time, the #1 piece has been my 12 Back Ben (Obi-Wan) Kenobi. See my Star Wars Collecting Blog for an explanation of a 12 Back. Do not worry, I still have my 12 Back Obi-Wan. I have something that you cannot find on Ebay on any given day. No, I did not buy it on Ebay. I met the collector that had it through Ebay. I have been working to get this before I was married. Are you ready for it?
I am a proud owner of a Ben (Obi-Wan) Kenobi Revenge of the Jedi proof card. What am I talking about you say? I will explain for the uninformed. Originally Return of the Jedi was called Revenge of the Jedi. George Lucas says he changed it because revenge was not the way of the Jedi. I am glad he changed it because Revenge of the Sith was the best title of the prequels. Revenge of the Jedi was not changed until late in the production of the movie. Their is a Revenge poster that was released and is one of the most rare Star Wars posters. When Kenner (the toy company) was developing it's toyline for the third movie, it was still being called Revenge of the Jedi. A proof card is a pre-production item. The Kenner employees would print out sample cardbacks to make sure everything was correct for when it went to production. Their are some known proofs that had a bubble and figure attached, but most proof cards had no bubble or figure attached. The title of Revenge was changed before any of the figures went to production. No action figures were produced with a Revenge label. Pre-production items are the only thing available with a Revenge title. Of the Revenge of the Jedi proof cards, 50 different characters exist. Of each of those characters, only 25-40 exist. So, that means I own one of the 25-40 Kenobi Revenge of the Jedi proof cards in existence. Yes, I am a geek.
PS.... Patience, persistence, and more patience will keep you from buying Star Wars toys at Ebay prices. Of the first 30 figures of the new Saga Collection, I only lacked one figure. Commander Cody. I estimate that he is the second most sought after/rare Saga Collection figure behind Scorch (of which I have two). I went to Wal-Mart last night to get my sick wife some medicine. I took my usual stroll through the toy section and I noticed that they actually restocked the Star Wars figures. This is a shock, because even though our Wal-Mart is new, it's Star Wars selection has not been good. They had three of Commander Cody. I natually bought all three of them. I wanted to open one and keep one in the package. I am not sure what I will do with the third one yet. Offers?
I do own a Star Wars Pez set. I have posted a picture here for you to see. Click on the picture to see a larger view. Just so all you know, I will not refuse any Star Wars items you want to buy me, even if I already own it. Wink wink.

Mike, something for both of us to be happy about.........
The Saturn Awards are in. In case you do not know, the Saturn Awards are my official awards for television and film. The Oscars are nothing but a fad driven liberal lunacy. Here are some winners of note. Mike, our shows both won best show in their category. I must brag that Battlestar took home 3 Saturns and Lost only took 2.
Best Science Fiction Film:
STAR WARS: EPISODE III: REVENGE OF THE SITH
Best Fantasy Film:
BATMAN BEGINS
Best Supporting Actress:
SUMMER GLAU
(Serenity)
Best Network Television Series:
LOST
Best Syndicated/Cable Television Series:
BATTLESTAR GALACTICA
Best Actor on Television:
MATTHEW FOX
(Lost)
Best Supporting Actor on Television:
JAMES CALLIS (Battlestar Galactica)
Best Supporting Actress on Television:
KATEE SACKHOFF (Battlestar Galactica)
To see all the winners go here.
I must give an extra hat tip to Summer Glau. Serenity winning anything is awesome. It WAS the best movie last year. I am not going to complain about Star Wars winning, but it was not the best movie last year. I am also very pleased with Batman Begins success at the Saturn Awards.

Let me see your green card..........
What did you think of the immigration rallies the other day? They swore that it would hurt the U.S. economy not having all of the illegal aliens go to work. All of those protest could have been mistaken for a crowd celebrating the Dow's six year high. I was going to have a big post on this issue, but I decided it is not really worth it. The solution is simple. If you are illegal, get out!!! If you are legal, welcome to America. Tighten the border. Clamp down on the companies employing illegals. Obey the law.

Speaking of lame things.......
It is prom season, well it is pretty much over now. I saw something the other day that did not sit well. A girl dressed all up in her prom dress, wearing a crown. I know that she was not prom queen. It all goes with a mentality in society that I do not agree with. We can thank feminism for this mentality. Now before you start calling me a sexist, hear me out. I believe that women should be respected. Biblically, us men are commanded to love our wives as Jesus loves the church. This is a high calling for men. Their is no better treatment for a woman than to be loved to this utmost standard. Today's society tells us that we must treat women like queens. That they can stomp and scream to get their way and men are to just bow down to it. Their is no respect for men. The human race is good at extremes. We are not very good at being equal. I watched a clip of the Fox and Friends morning show. They had a lady on that has written a book about how feminism has destroyed chivary. Interesting concept. If women want total equality with men, then they should expect to be treated like men. This, of course, would not fly. We are suppose to give women everything and bow down to them.
God knows best. He created the man and women to be together. Women should take off their crowns and men should stop lying about the size of their manhood. Anyone that properly reads the Bible knows that each man/woman has a role. The roles are different. Both are not easy. When done right, and only then, will we reap the satisfaction that we all long for in a relationship. I am not an expert. I just got married. One thing I do know, is their is no room for selfishness.
Coming to a future near you......the mens civil rights movement.
