Rumor has it.............

An interesting rumor has surfaced in the Shawnee, America area. Just south of Shawnee is a town called Tecumseh. Tecumseh is like Shawnee's suburb. It is that close. Anyways, the rumor is that Mel Gibson and family are moving to the outskirts of Tecumseh. Our friend Mel is a Catholic and apparently wants his son to go to St. Gregory's University here in Shawnee. Their is a large house being constructed on the outskirts of Tecumseh. This is supposed to be Mel's new house. It is very large and nice. I have driven by the house. What supposedly sparked this rumor is Mel himself walked into the building in Tecumseh where you pay your property taxes. Like I said it is a rumor. Even though it would be cool to go to Wal-Mart and see Mel. Take it for what it is worth. It is just a rumor.

You are correct........

The previous post was a Trevorization (as Dad put it) of Proverbs 8.

WISDOM

A diddy for you.........

I am the common in your sense.
I give true understanding.

I have many things to tell you.

I hate deception.

I love truth.

Wholesome advice comes from my lips.

Silver and gold have nothing on me.

My best friend is good judgment.

I hate pride.

I hate arrogance.

I hate corruption.

I hate your filthy mouth.

Success is my path.

True justice exist because of me.

If you want to find me, search for me.

I have existed since the beginning of time.

I am older than the Earth itself.

I was there when the Heavens were established.

I am the architect beside the Great One.

If you follow my ways, you will be happy.

If you hate me, then you love death.

Find me, find life.

Find me and you will have the approval from Him on high.

Who am I?

The Oscars suck................

The Oscars suck. They always nominate movies that I have not seen, mostly because I am not interested in them. If an actress wants an Oscar nod, they just need to show themselves off in a raunchy sex scene. Yes, know that is not the case with many of the winners. I am sick and tired of having all of this subject matter thrown in my face that I do not care about. No, I do not want to see Hale Berry get it on with Billy Bob and I do not want to see two cowboys getting it on. I do not care how broken your mountain is. The most watched and loved movies of the year hardly get mentioned at the Oscars. I do have a response to this.

The Dot Com endorses the Saturn Awards as the official movie/TV awards. I am kicking the Oscars out. I have this years Saturn nominations. My pics are in red.

I did leave a couple catagories out.

Of course I did not pick something in every catagory. Either I was notfamiliarr enough with the nods or I just did not pick one. I did not make a pick in "Best Network TV Series." I would of picked "Lost" but the show has lost momentum for me. If My Lady did not want to watch the show, then it might of lost me as a viewer. They are totally dragging out the plot in season 2. The show has potential. It has some really interesting elements. The problem is, they will not get to those elements. I will continue to watch and hope they get their act together. I did give Matthew Fox and Evangeline Lily my selection. In spite of the plot hold ups, these actors have done a great job.

This was a great year for SciFi/Fantasy. If you missed "Serenity", go rent or buy it now. The new "War of the Worlds" was awesome. We got to see the mask come down on Darth Vader. Christopher Nolan brought "Batman" back from the outrageous Clooney bin that it turned into. Let us not forget C.S. Lewis' masterpiece "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe." I guarantee that the movies mentioned here will be watched and cherished in the years to come. In the years to come you will not even remember what the Oscars nominated.

Ice and snow is guaranteed to do one thing........

That one thing in Oklahoma is to take life to a slow, slow, slow crawl. Back in my Missouri days, ice and snow just put a delay on life. It had to be a blizzard or an ice storm from the planet Hoth to put life on hold. I remember waking up the morning of or after a winter storm hoping and praying that the Lawson School District would show up on the cancelled school list on the news. Usually it did not. We had the most stubborn school officials. Every school in our area could be out, but we would be putting on the extra layer of clothes and heading off to school. The ice and snow that we just got here in Oklahoma would not of cancelled anything in Missouri. It is dangerous still. The road crew response in Missouri would of had the roads cleared with a storm like this as it came down. Road crew response in Oklahoma moves like a glacier. So, yes, two days later most of the roads are still covered in ice. Their is a saying here in Oklahoma, "If you do not like the weather in Oklahoma, wait a couple days and it will change." I checked out the forecast for the next week. They say it will be 42 degrees tomorrow and in the 60's by midweek. I have cracked the Oklahoma road crew philosophy. Just sit on your......butt......until God Himself melts the ice. I am so glad they are looking out for the lives of everyone who is out driving around. Do you sense the sarcasm?

We did have church this morning. Unlike all the other heathens who canceled. Just kidding. Pastor Jimmie Don talked about the need for Christians to be devoted to one another. I know some of you want me to move back to the Motherland (Missouri). Do you know the main reason why I hesitate to move? My church. I know I have many friends and my family in MO. I will have them even if I continue to live in OK. We have true friendship within our congregation. Our church does have it's issues, do not get me wrong. My question for you is, how much do you see people from your church congregation through out the week? I go to church with my friends. My pastor is not only my Shepard, he is my friend. My music and youth ministers are dear friends of mine. I love going to church because I get to see people who are dear to me. When we greet each other I do not have to put on a fake smile and say "hello." I say "hello" and shake their hands because I am really glad to see them. The best thing of all is we come together to honor God in His service together. Are we perfect? Far from it. We face problems and disagreements all the time. Even with our warts, I have faith that we can overcome our problems because we love each other and most of all we love God.
"Be devoted to one another with mutual love, showing eagerness in honoring one another." -Romans 12:10

The Rundown.........

Greetings! One month of 2006 down. That means I get married next month! March 18th is the day, just in case you have not heard. "The Wedding" page has been updated at the Dot Com. Check it out....

....."Check, microphone check, cha check, microphone check. Lights out. Game over." That is some familiar words if you have checked out POD's new album Testify. If you have not cha checked it out, you must. POD really shows diversity in this album along with solid lyrics.....

......Speaking of albums. I did not give a best of 2005 album list. I do not have time to go in detail, so, here I go. I will start will honorable mentions, then give my album of the year.

Worth Mentioning:
Blindside: The Great Depression - I put this album on the bottom of all of their albums. But, all of their albums are awesome. A lyrically solid album with many tracks I enjoy.
Disciple: Rise Up - Just go buy this album. It will rip your face off! It would be album of the year if the album that is the album of the year was not the album of the year (did you follow that?).
Jars of Clay: Redemption Songs - My mellow side.
Demon Hunter: The Triptych - It's Demon Hunter. Of course they put out another awesome album.

The Dot Com's official 2005 album of the year...........
Project 86: And The Rest Will Follow - Just go buy it! I have thought about doing a Project 86 theme week here at the Dot Com Blog. Maybe I will get around to it.........

.........I have been around enough to post the first finished book of 2006. I am in the middle of like 3, but this one went to completion a few weeks ago. Click on the booklist link or scroll down and look to the right on the blog......

.......Speaking on being on to me about my blog. Mike, you work 50-60 hours a week while planning a wedding (along with all the other activities I am involved in) and see how updated your blog stays. I am not looking for a sympathy party by saying that. I like my life and love my Amanda. Some things come before others. Also, when you are low on sleep you tend to fall asleep at the keyboard while trying to punch out a blog entry. Staying awake.....

.......has consisted of watching 60 episodes of Alias in the past three weeks. If you are behind and do not know, my full-time job is night security at a dormitory. When I do a lot of extra work during the day, staying awake at night is a challenge. Alias as been interesting enough to keep me going lately. Six more episodes to finish season 3. The first two seasons were really good. Season 3 has went out there some, but has kept some good elements. The good elements are what made season 1 and 2 really good. I give props to the MVP program at Hollywood Video. Why would you ever go to Blockbuster?
