Lame on Lame on!!!.......UPDATED Again!

It is national Embrace the Lame day!!!! It is time for all of us to embrace the lame things in our lives that we normally try to hide from public view. Not familiar with ETL? Read here from the founder himself.

Here is what I will embrace today.

- You all know, that I am an avid Star Wars collector. Yes, I have 100's of action figures and like to read books about Star Wars collecting (the few that are out there). I long to have a friend that will actually find my conversations about my collection interesting. My collection is starting to get to the point were I have been checking on collector's insurance.

- I love the new Battlestar Galactica. Their is actually nothing lame about it, but it is sci fi, so I usually get rolled eyes when I talk about it. Their is not another show out there that is more relevant to today's issues.

- I like to make up songs and sing them to my wife. I just make them up on the spot about whatever she is doing. Ususally, it is done in a falsetto voice.

- My wife and I own the first season of MacGyver and want more of them.

- I listened to New Kids On The Block back in Junior High for a brief period of time. Then I came to and shunned them. I look back and wonder why did I do that? I have rock 'n roll in my blood. I was at our town fair and won a New Kids pillow. It was one of those deals were I did not have a choice. The rubber duck I selected out of the water said "New Kids pillow." This was after I came to the light and disliked New Kids. I asked if I could trade it for another prize, even a smaller one, and the carney would not let me. I figured mom could make a cover to go over it, so I kept it. It was a comfortable pillow. Of course no one at home would believe my story and continued to get a hard time about New Kids. Of course they wouldn't believe me. I am a compulsive liar. I lie all the time. Everyone that knows me, knows I am a liar. DO you sense the sarcasm?

- I was a big MC Hammer fan back in Junior High. Yes, I was a Hammer man. He was 2 legit 2 quit. Now he is a preacha!

- Back in about 5th grade I let my mom talk me into perming my hair. Yes, I had curly hair on top. What was even lamer, I let her do it a second time later on.

- I have this urge to do a Godzilla movie marathon type thing. We have several of the old cheesy Godzilla movies at our Hollywood Video. I want to watch them all and tell you all about it.

- I would have to say my favorite chick flick is Ever After.

- My last post about Softball.

- I was sooo in love with Winnie in the Wonder Years. That was a great show.

- I want to start collecting back all of my childhood toys (He-Man, Go-Bots, Voltron, etc).

- I like good childrens books. Go Dr. Seuss!

- Bargain World anyone?

New Editions
- I watched the first three seasons of Alias in about two weeks. That is 60 something episodes. I watched the first few episodes of season 4, but it started to go down hill (kind of like Lost in season 2). The first three seasons are really good. Along with this, I watched the first season of 24 in three nights. I have yet to finish season 3, but 24 is freakin awesome.

More to Come, hopefully.....

Go over to Dave's Blog. He is keeping a list of people participating in ETL day!

Lame on!!!!!!!!!!

One more trip to the Ship......

I concluded my OBU intramural career last night with my 4th trip to the champioship game. Since I was employed at OBU I was eligible to play intramural sports. Combined from when I was a student, I got to take four trips to the big game with two rings(actually they give you a t-shirt). We were not suppose to be in the Ship last night. Our team was the 7th seed in the big tourny. It is amazing what you can do when all of your good players show up and you get hot. Our side of the bracket was the upset side. We knocked off the 2nd seed and the 6th seed knocked off the 3rd seed. Earlier last night we beat the 6th to later play in the Ship. The Ship was a screecher. We missed it by 1 run. The team we played should of mopped us. They had college JV baseball players and all. our little rag tag sandlot team almost sent them home crying. That was fun. Since Mike is a stats guy, here is the rundown of my my night. In two games, I went 6 for 7 with a triple, 2 doubles, three singles, and reached once because of error. I do not know how many RBIs. Cannot remember and was not counting. I scored the majority of the time I got on. Why give the stats? Well, someones got to make up for the Royals.

Looking down on you.......

I am officially self-employed. I did my "exit interview" Friday. I thought that they were going to sit me down and ask me questions. To make sure I was not mad at OBU and was at risk of going postal. Nope. I had to go around and get a sheet of signatures. It was not really an "interview." Oh well.

A few nights ago I discovered Google Earth. You can check out satellite shots around the world. Some of them have pretty good resolution, some are blurry. For instance, the northern half of Shawnee is burry, but the southern section is pretty good. So, I can make out my church, but not my house. Well, I have been spying on some of you. For your protection, I cut off the GPS coordinates. I do not want some internet predator coming to your residence. If they come to mine, they can get a good view of my .45. Come to think of it, I could tell where Dad lives. He could put some interesting holes in you. Enjoy!

Mike, I do not know where you live. I thought that the Truman Sports Complex was like a home to you.........

Lack of post.....

Sorry about the lack of post. Even though this is my last week of night security, I have been running a pretty full schedule in the remoldeling business. Amanda is starting here new job. I got Relay for Life coming up this weekend. I have not had the brain power to formulate a decent post except haggle you about giving to Relay for Life. I have not even been successful at doing that. The Star Wars auction is over. I had some bidders. Did not have as many as I hoped. We still raised some money. I am happy about that. It looks like I will not reach my goal. I guess I did not try hard enough. Everyone have a great day!

My two week notice......

Today I turned in my letter of resignation to my boss at OBU. In two weeks I will no longer be a Night Security man. I will be self-employed. I will Remodel/Handyman full-time. It is so nice to be able to give myself a raise. It is like being a Senator, except without the politics and I actually have to please the people that higher me to get paid. The life of a vampire is no more. I will sleep during the night now. Wait, I will actually just sleep now. I forget what that is like. New discoveries are ahead of me.

The 8000th hit was out of Stillwater. That has to be Jon or Leslie Hall. I am gearing up for the 10,000th. I might be handing out a prize.

Some old school Stavesacre..........

Colt .45

i thought about what you said
and i'm not sorry for a thing
you do not understand this
or what it means to me
cannot discard this as emotion
this is more than another passing stage
you'll have to prove it's just opinion
in defense of everything this is my everything
could it be that you have stumbled
tripped and fallen over something more than faith

could you prove yourself
this is a matter of life and death
would you step up to the line
but please don't just talk this time
i want what you ask of me
i want what you ask of me this time
step up to the line
action begs reaction

what is left to be said
anything less has all been done before
to put to rest what you've been wondering
if you could take my life
would you still ask for more

I though about what you said
something occurred to me
you wouldn't ask me to turn my back on anything
if you believed that I believe
truth is I would love to show you
take "faith & works" to another higher stage
so there is little time for words you've heard
life and death are only steps, I'm not afraid of what comes next
what is enough in your opinion
perhaps my death would bring some substance to my claims

vanity of vanities this
life, love, art & sex
each breath you breathe is
grasping at the wind

He is my everything

we cannot both be right
about right and wrong
and God and man
right and wrong and God and man

i want what you ask of me this time
please step up to the line
He's my everything
action begs reaction

what is left to be said
anything less has all been done before
so put to rest your wondering
if you could take my life
you'd still ask for more

Check out Stavesacre.

Matthew 15:16-18..............

"Are you still so dull? Jesus asked them. "Don't you see that whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach and then out of the body? But the things that come out of the mouth come from the heart, and these make a man unclean."

What is in your heart?
