Getting ur done........

I put Wizard and Glass on my shelf just now with must satisfaction, happiness, and thoughts of "it's about flippin time!!" I did enjoy the book very much. Stephen King does a tragic love story. Who would of thunk that? I just have been caught up doing other stuff this past month. I read it consistently, but just by bits at a time. I decided that I was going to finish it a few days ago, and here we are. I do have a question that I know only God can answer. Out of the over 660 pages, how many of them did I read when I was in the bathroom dropping bombs on Berlin low altitude style? Anyways.....Dave, it is now time for Wolves of the Calla (Dark Tower 5).

Church Buries The Unborn.........

Check this article out!!! It is about a church that buries the ashes of unborn babies from abortion clinics. This is my way of remembering the countless lost as we sadly observe the 32nd anniversary of Roe vs. Wade. Read the article HERE.

Funny Stuff...........

Election years are a great time for those in the comedy business. I do appreciate the fact that comedy, for the most part, is not a respector of one party. They make fun of everyone. Jibjab had some funny stuff during the election year and now they have another little singing cartoon for W. Bush's "Second Term." Go check it out at www.jibjab.com.

Still Enjoying Christmas.................

I have successfully beat my first game on my new X-Box. Even though I seriously started playing Knights of the Old Republic first, Halo is the numero uno on the conquer list. It only took a day to beat Halo. I have already played Kights for over 25 hours and I am not even close to beating it. I do have Halo 2 on loan. It could be numero two-no.

Better Than Critics.................

I have finally finished my review of the first season of 24. Check it out at Better Than Critics. More reviews to come. I will finish viewing the first season of Six Feet Under tonight.

I Finally Have Joined the Crowd...................

I finally viewed in full, Napoleon Dynamite. I knew half the lines beforehand because everyone is wandering about quoting the movie. Quotable movies are fun. If you get me and my brothers in a room together, I am sure we could almost reinact Spaceballs in it entirety. Here are some Dynamite quotes for you.

Napoleon: "Well, no one's gonna go out with me."
Pedro: "Have you asked anybody yet?"
N: "No, but who would? I don't even have any go skills."
P: "What do you mean?"
N: "You know, like, numchuck skills, bow hunting skills, computer hacking skills. Girls only want boyfriends who have great skills."

"La Fawnduh"

"Who wants to eat chimichangus* next year, um, not me." (misspelled on purpose)

"Pedro offers protection."

"If you vote for me all of your wildest dreams will come true."

24 Down, 3 or More to Go.......................

It is 6 am and I am now done with the first season of 24. I will have a full review coming soon. Instead of placing my review here, I will revive our long dead Better Than Critics website. Some time ago Dave and I started a blog dedicated to doing reviews over movies, dvds, etc. We have never cared much for all those critics out there that critically acclaim crap much of the time. The reviews died out kind of quickly. It had a lot to do with me not being a dedicated blogger at the time. Back to the point. I will post my review at the Better Than Critics blog and I will inform you here when I do. I will make some general comments about the show here, but more details and spoilers will be given at BTC.

At the pace that I am going, I may be able to view more than 4 seasons this month. I did claim it as an Odyssey. 24 was so good that I viewed it in half the time that I originally planned. Of course if I run into something that is not as interesting, it could slow me down. If something does slow me down enough because it sucks, then I reserve the right to stop and start something else. This could happen because I have picked out a couple shows that I know next to nothing about. I am still open for suggestions. I will consider them if the show sounds interesting (or you make the show sound interesting) and is available at my local Hollywood Video store.

January is the Month of Seasons..........

Happy New Year everyone!!! The years are passing. I have declared January as my month to watch entire seasons of various shows. Each week I am gonna tackle a whole season of a show. So that means four seasons in four weeks. I am beginning with season one of 24 staring Kiefer Sutherland. This is the show that progresses in real time. The 24 episode season covers 24 hours of time within the show. I am now currently 8 episodes or you might say 8 hours into the show. I am hooked. Not only is the program a unique format, but it has been written and acted with excellence. I will hold off on my review for now. I will give a review of each season at the end of each week.

Originally I played with the idea of watching a movie every day for the month. This idea was encouraged by a book that I borrowed from Dave. A Year at the Movies written by Mystery Science Theatre 3000's Kevin Murphy chronicles his movie going experience for an entire year. He did not go just to see movies. Murphy went to capture and chronicle the movie going experience in various venues in different ways. January is my my little Odyssey. I have never been one to have a weekly TV watching schedule. I want to capture a season's entirety for the first time. I also want to see if a show can be consistantly good from episode to episode. Do they tie together? I am starting with 24. I am going to watch a season of the X-Files (season 1 if possible). The other two I have yet to decide. I am going to do a comedy. The fourth needs to be a show that is different in genre from the other three. I would be happy to take your suggestions.
