Blank stare.....................................

The past two nights I have sat at the computer with a blank stare. I had my blog open and ready to type in, but nothing. Through the day I will think of things to type about and I will either forget about it or the idea looses it flavor. I could have talked about political topics, but I am on a political fast of some sorts. So, I am forcing myself to type something tonight. Enjoy.

.........................a few hours later

........................................Let's do another list!!!

Top TV Shows in My Childhood.........(not in any particular order)

These days in my so called grown-up life I am not a big TV watcher. I am a movie watcher. So, to do a list of TV shows I have to reach back to the olden days.

The Wonder Years - If I did do a list in a ranking order, this could be at #1. For those who are not familiar with the show, Fred Savage stars with a cast of friends and family in this Vietnam War era show. The show has a narriator who is the grown-up version of Fred Savage's character(Kevin Arnold). This gives insight to the happenings of Kevin as an adult looking back on his childhood. Now,........... I must talk about Winnie. Oh Winnie Cooper. How I wanted to marry you.........when I was 12. She was hot stuff. Ok,............. shake it off Trevor, get back on track. It was a show I could relate to (not because I am that old and lived during Vietnam) because I was of similar age as the characters. Kevin dealt with the issues and difficulties of growing up, just as I was. If Dave does a list like this, his top show will be Boy Meets World. Interestingly, it stars Fred Savage's brother Ben. I would describe Boy Meets World as a modern day setting of The Wonder Years.

He-Man and the Masters of the Universe - The power of Grayskull will come down on you!! Show Info.

Transformers - Robots in disguise!! Optimus Prime will beat you down. Why did Megatron put up with Starscream? Show Info.

Teenage Muntant Ninja Turtles - TMNT was a favorite to watch when I came home for school. It was a late afternoon before supper show. I also remember playing the Nintendo games for hours on end with my younger brother Tyson. Cowabunga dude!

Batman: the Animated Series - When I make my trips to Houston I stay with Dave. On my last trip Dave pulled out and showed me with a smile the new addition to his DVD collection. It was a set of episodes from Batman. Over breakfast we took in a few episodes. A very well done cartoon.

I know their are more TV shows to be mentioned, but that is all for now. I would like you to tell me about your childhood favorites in my comment section.

It is time to take a break.......................

Election '04 is over and a break from politics is due. Congrats to W!! I am glad he is coming back for "four more years." I am also glad we do not have to put up with Teresa Heinz-Kerry's stupid comments. Enough of that. Yes, it is break time. I will continue to watch the news, but with less frequency. I still want to keep up on world events. Instead of keeping up on the political events like in the past few months, I am going to use the time to read and write more.

Speaking of reading. I just finished Stephen King's The Gunslinger. The revised and expanded version of the first of seven books in The Dark Tower series. Dave finished the Tower series recently and it has encouraged me finish it myself. I had read the first three books back in high school. Their is no way I could just pick up where I left off and remember many of the details. I now stand with 300 pages behind me and 3500 before me. I am setting no completion date. It could be some time before I finish. I do have a couple other books I am trying to get through and yet I started Drawing of the Three. Go figure.

Changes to the Blog
If you have not noticed, some additions to my blog have been made. I now have a links section. One section for other blogs and conversation pieces and another for websites and other items of interest. It is easier to make comments on my blog. Just click on "comments" at the end of each entry. Enjoy!

Let's Be Over With It............

It is finally upon us. The Big Tuesday. Election day 2004. Bush vs. Kerry. For those of you who know me, I am sure you have a pretty good idea who I am going to vote for. If you do not know me and have no idea who I am voting for, then I will give you a hint. W. I am very much ready for it to be over. I want the news to talk about something else. I want to see different commercials. I want this country to get on with what ever it needs to do. Go vote. If you are eligible to vote and you do not, then you cannot complain about anything over the next 4 years. You have a say. If you want to say anything about it, then you better be voting about it. Happy election day!!

I shout in the manner of Howard Dean. YEEEAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!
(I hope their will be no political consequences if i do)
