Blog change......

This is the end of www.zetataylor.blogspot.com and the beginning of www.thebeardedtrevor.blogspot.com.

I will not bore you with the details, but I thought it was necessary and time to change my blog URL.

What does this mean?

I am recommitting myself to blogging on a regular basis. Not only is it something I want to do, but I also feel it is something I need to do. I am a person with thoughts and ideas (a wanna be intellectual) and I need to be active in sharing them. Even if it is to a couple readers. Throughout my days I am always commenting to myself how all the interactions, experiences, and thoughts that I have would make a good blog entry.

Dave, I hope you are happy and I will try not to let you down.

Please reset your links to www.thebeardedtrevor.blogspot.com

Thank you.

Back in Okie........

I am back. Now I have the task of trying to condense my trip into a blog post. This one will take awhile. If it takes too long I will do some other post to fill in. I will end by saying Drive Conference 2008 was amazing!

Destination Atlanta......

I am now in Atlanta. The men that I am traveling with have computers, so I have been able to provide some pictures of my trip thus far (I took 244 at the Braves game). I am here in Atlanta to attend the Drive Conference put on by North Point Community Church. We went to church this morning at North Point and Buckhead (one of North Point's satellite churches). I will talk more extensively about my church experience later (which was awesome).

After we attended church we went to an Reds vs Braves game. Ken Griffey Jr. pretty much stunk. He is slumping bad and is still sitting at 597. Even though I did not get to see baseball history, we did see a hitfest. Braves won 14-7 with over 30 total hits in the game.

Drive Conference begins tomorrow! For now, here are a few pics for your viewing pleasure.

A chance to see baseball history......

I need Ken Griffey Jr. to get hot swinging the bat right now. This afternoon I am going to be starting my trip to Atlanta for a conference next week. A couple weeks ago I checked to see if the Braves were going to be in town. They are. Then I noticed they were going to play Cincinnati. Then I thought at that time, "Griffey Jr. is at home run 696." This could work out. I have a legitimate chance to see Griffey hit his historic 600th home run. I am going to the game on Sunday. Griffey needs to hit 3 HRs in the next three games and the 3rd one being on Sunday. No matter what happens, it is always fun to hit an MLB game. I will have pictures.

I will still post while I am gone because I can do them on my Amazon Kindle, which is the coolest thing for reading since the invention of the printing press.

"In this place".........

I really appreciate what Manders pointed out in a recent post.

What is up with the phrase “in this place”? You know what I mean, if you’ve been in church: “Lord, we just ask You to be here in this place…” or some other permutation. It’s been bugging me because a) isn’t that just an overly verbose and/or redundant way of saying “here”? b) where else do you want Him to be? I don’t know.

Also–”Stand to your feet.” Where the heck else are you going to stand? Your hands? I don’t get it. :)

Christians have their own pop culture too. We catch on and do/say what sounds the most spiritual. We have our own fads and it makes me sickly. Deep down people say things like this so they can be perceived as "spiritual" or "holy." Who cares if it is Theologically correct or just logically correct. I know, I know, you are saying "Trevor, you cannot know that persons heart or intentions." True. Being human is something I know about. I know that being genuine and pure is in the minority. I know that it is in our nature to make ourselves look good.

"Be holy, because I am holy." - 1 Peter 1:16

"Being" and "Sounding" are far from being similar.

My Amazon Kindle

I have a new tool/toy. It is a toolbecause it will help and encourage me to read even more than i do and help me reduce a bunch of clutter from my house. It is a toy because of the giddy excitement it still brings me to use it. It is the Amazon Kindle. What is the Kindle? It is an electronic book. Read all about it at Amazon.com. It even has some basic web browsing. This post is being done on my Kindle. Peace out.

ETL: Embrace The Lame Day version 2008

Nothing like my favorite internet holiday to bring me out of blog retirement. Was I really in blog retirement? I never said, "I am retiring from blogging." It would be more accurate to say I was on hiatus. So, the blogging "hiatus" ends with this year's Embrace the Lame Day.

This most awesomo of internet holidays found its beginnings with my friend Dave. Go to his Blog which is the official home of ETL to read all about it.

On with my contribution to ETL 2008:

1. I still collect toys. I even have many of them displayed at the Toy and Action Figure Museum in Pauls Valley. OK.

2. Over the past few years I have been getting back into baseball cards. I have even started sending off cards through the mail to get autographed. A few weeks ago I turned back the clock to my teenage years when I went to a KC Royals game. I waited at the players parking area to get some autos. I was not the only one of course. There was about twenty fellow lame people like myself. I scored two Alex Gordon sigs, two Billy Butler sigs, Frank White, Miguel Olivio, and Manager Trey Hillman. Lame on!

3. Battlestar Galactica. Even though this show is far from lame, my excitement for it is usually seen as lame. The fourth and final season is going on right now. No, the show is not being canceled or stopped short. The creators of the show made the call because this is where the story concludes. I am excited to have a complete story that is not drawn out or filled with several filler episodes just because of the ratings (a.k.a. Lost and most other hit TV shows).

4. I still have long hair and a big fat beard. Dave, embrace the long hair no matter what city you live in.

5. I have a friend that takes pictures of us holding out light sabers and enhances the pictures to make the light sabers look real.

That is enough for now. Lame on!!
